My favorite app is dying. Instagram used to be for simple, everyday photos with zero expectations—selfies, memes, breakup quotes from real people you know. Now? It's all AI meme pages recycling the same fake content, gore videos, OnlyFans thirst traps. Nothing inspiring, funny, or even relevant. So what's the point?

The new trend? Lurking. People are archiving their photos, hiding memories, going private. The feed is dead, and the only “cool” way to share is through stories. I hate the performative cycle of curating a “perfect” life. The platform feels more distant, more judgy. There's no real reason to share anymore. Most profiles fit into one of these categories:

What does a world without Instagram look like—for me? More time for what actually matters. More intentional ways to connect. Less scrolling, more touching grass. More TikTok? …Most likely.
